Three most interesting facts about my neighbourhood

I live in Burnaby, near Broadway and Burnaby Mountain. The first thing I found interesting is the nearly identical statistics for men and women in my neighbourhood, which is nearly exactly half. The total population of age groups is 7,720, 3,870 being men and 3,850 being women. That is a tiny 0.52% difference. The reason for this could be due to the men and women common-law/married ratio also being nearly identical, 1,845 - men and 1,860 - women. It seems couples could be pressed to move out here due to the high volume of detached private homes and decent pricing (at the time).

Another interesting thing I noticed in my area was the majority of 2-person sized families, being 970 in my area, which makes out to be 44.9% which is almost half the family population by itself, compared to 3 persons, 4 persons and 5- more person families wich all collectively make up the remaining  55% of families in said area. I find it interesting because in my neighbourhood you see lots of detached well-sized homes, ideal for raising children and living with family but the two person sized family make up such a high collective. Most likely due to the 20.2% of the population being people 65 years old and older. So their families could have moved out at the time these stats were calculated.

The total visible minority population is 4,350,  the high majority being Chinese, which is 31.5% of the population (2,425) the nearest group to that large number is South Asian, being 5.6% of the visible minority population (405). Third place goes to Korean, being 3.9% of the visible minority population (300). The total visible minority population percentage is 56.5%, and the remaining population (non-visible minority) is 43.5% (3,345).  The Chinese population stat makes sense to me because the Chinese population stat for all of metro Vancouver is high in itself 19.6%. What I do find interesting however is the way the Chinese population greatly towers over the South Asian population in my area specifically, as compared to all of metro Vancouver, (14.2% of the population).
